Good presentation of garden

You should remember that the first thing anyone sees of your house is the garden. All of the property pundits talk about the importance of kerb appeal. This is described in the Cambridge Dictionary as follows:

“PROPERTY the qualities of a building that make it attractive, for example to a buyer, when it is seen from the street: First impressions really are important - so make sure your house has kerb appeal! (Definition of kerb appeal from the Cambridge Business English Dictionary © Cambridge University Press)”

You should always remember that a decision to view a property or, indeed, to buy a property is made extremely quickly. The important consideration is to ensure that the viewer actually does enter the property for a viewing. You do not want them to be put off a viewing because their first impression, caused by the state of a garden, is that the property is not well cared for.

Top Tips!

  1. Make sure any gates are painted and hanging properly;
  2. Make sure the garage door is also in good condition;
  3. Cut the grass and edges;
  4. Cut back any overgrown bushes or trees;
  5. Do all the weeding and dead heading required including any paths;
  6. Hide the bins, either in the garage or in a suitable bin store area;
  7. Power wash any driveways and paths.
